“Every man has his own destiny: the only imperative is to follow it, to accept it; no matter where it leaves him.”
Hey, it’s Melody and my destiny has led me to make a life in Charlotte by way of Harlem, New York. During the day, I am the Marketing and Communications Manager for Levine Museum of the New South. I am also the Principal Strategist for my company, The STACII Agency where I consult nonprofits, grassroots organizations, foundations and charities in developing their own purpose-driving marketing efforts. Oh, and I co-host the NPOmg! Podcast.
I am a domestic violence survivor, (loud and proud) speaker, and advocate. Currently, I am enrolled in the University of Pennsylvania’s Ortner Center for Ending Violence and Abuse in Relationship’s Executive Program. My goal is to take my advocacy to action and change. Creator of the social media awareness campaign, #DV365 (launching January 2019).
I can be seen around town or on social media sharing the hilarious stories and anecdotes provided by my kiddo, affectionately known in public as KGB.
The most important things in my life include: KGB (of course), my family, friends, and my community. I want to see more culture. I want to see more happiness. I want to see people live their lives without boundaries.
My favorite hashtags to use are:
I am many things to many people. I am a student of my experiences.
But most importantly, I Am Melody!
